Did you sign up your HoopKidz for the iHoops Skills Challenge yet? HoopKidz/HoopElite Basketball is presenting an official area-wide inaugural iHoops Skills Challenge, Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at 6 PM at Silver Spring International Middle School, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
It's free to participate! This national basketball Skills competition for Boys & Girls, ages 9 to 14, is an opportunity to showcase their B-Ball abilities in a time-based, half-court obstacle course-similar(less complicated) to the NBA Skills contest held at the All-Star Game each year. The iHoops Skills Challenge focuses on b-ball skill development while encouraging participation in the game. Kids from all over the DC Metropolitan area will compete.
1st Place Champions from our competition will have the opportunity to advance to one of the 29 Regional competitions occurring in NBA team markets with those winners advancing to the National Finals in Orlando, FL (Disney Complex). We'd like all interested and eligible HoopKidz (past & present) to sign up and represent! iHoops is the new joint Youth Basketball initiative of the NCAA and NBA. Sign up on the website today! It's official, we're going to Broadway in May for Denzel Washington's return to the stage in the classic play, August Wilson's FENCES! Saturday, May 8th, we'll head up to NYC in a Luxury MotorCoach with Media Center, Big Screens, and WiFi to a Matinee production of this great play with Denzel and Oscar-nominee Viola Davis. Food will be provided on the way to NYC. After the show, we'll have Dinner at BICE (not provided in cost), then cruise back MD before the day is done. This trip is our fundraiser for the HoopSelect Training & Development program and will assist to defer gym costs and training time . The cost for the outing is only $140.00 per person (includes tickets/premimum seating, food, & round trip travel) Dad's /Boyfriend's -make this an early Valentine present or Date Saturday away from the kids! Or if your young teens have never seen or had the experience of a Broadway play before, come with us. Deposit is $75 per person due February 20th. Balance due April 10th!
